I've been busy!

We have been super busy will baseball, t-ball, school for three of us and I can not remember what else we have done! Jake is doing very well in baseball! He did not like it at first, but after he was one of the only kids to hit in a game, he likes it pretty well now. Lucas on the other hand absolutely hates t-ball! We can not do anything to keep him out there. He would quit if we would let him, I think Nicolas is more interested in it than Lucas is!
We are definitely ready for summer! I think we all need a break. Spending three nights a week at the ballpark is taking a toll on us. I have only 1 1/2 weeks left in this block of class, woo hoo! If I never have to write again, it would not hurt me one bit! I do have one more writing class to do, but it is writing memos and resumes. I think I can handle that.

I have read the first three books in the Twilight series, thanks to Paula for getting me addicted! The only reason I bring it up is because Lucas and I had the funniest conversation about vampires!
Lucas said something about a vampire, but I did not hear it.
I say, "Lucas, you know those books mommy has been reading are about vampires?"
Lucas, "Oh, you don't need to be around vampires."
Me, "Really, why not?"
Lucas,"They are dangerous." He said this almost whispering, like it was really scary!
Me, "Really?"
Lucas, "YES! They will eat your blood out of your neck and then fly away and eat a cows blood out of its neck."
I could not help but to laugh. I guess he thinks I am going to go out and look for a vampire. He really does not know anything about vampires, what he thinks he knows is really information from Animal Planet on Vampire Bats. Anytime he sees a bat, it is a vampire.

One night Christen, Dave and Hunter came out. I cooked chicken quesadillas, mexican rice and brownies for everyone. Last week I cooked quesadillas again and Lucas of course had to know what was cooking.
Lucas, "What are you cooking me for dinner?'
Me, "Chicken quesadillas."
Lucas, "I don't eat that amymore." He says amymore instead of anymore!
Me, "Yes you do. If you do not eat this, I do not know what you will eat."
Lucas, "Did you cook that when Christen and her family were here?"
Me,"Yes, you ate them then, are you going to eat them now?"
Lucas, "Oh yes, I like those."
I'm thinking yeah, I knew that.
After I had a few made,
Me, "Lucas are you ready to eat?"
Lucas, "Yes, I need you to blow it...wait, I can't eat until Christen and her family get here."
He was serious! The conversation went on. I guess he thinks that I can only cook quesadillas when Christen and her family are here? That child is crazy!

Busy week...

I'm just going to update what has been going on here. You all probably know that the week of Valentine's that Jacob missed the entire week of school because he had the flu. He went back the next week and missed a couple of days that week. The next week he had a stomach virus, and then I finally got him back the next week. Last weekend, he got sick again. I was convinced that he had some kind of child hood disease! I called Paula and she calmed me a little. I took him to the Dr. on Monday and they said he had some virus, but if he wasn't better in a week bring him back in and have him tested for mono. He was getting worse, so I took him on Wednesday, I still haven't got the results, hopefully tomorrow. He seems to be a little better now, he is finally eating. He looks so puny, I think he has lost at least 10 lbs. Lucas and Nicolas have been fine, not even a sneeze out of them. Friday I was contacted about doing a party in Paragould, and agreed because I didn't realize that Paragould was so far away. I made $155 and recruited someone, so it wasn't that bad. Saturday I woke up feeling horrible. My lungs are very congested and I cannot stop coughing. (Perfect opportunity to stop smoking!) I am still sick, I have had fever and chills, and cannot stay awake half the time. I do not know what I am going to do tomorrow while Jason is at work, hopefully I will be okay. That is all that has been going on here, sickness! I will keep everyone posted on whether or not there is mono in the house!

Day what?

OK, so Jason and I have been slacking on the 40 day love dare. We keep forgetting to read it. I think we did make it through 4 or 5 days, but I really do not remember! We are fine though. Jason had his first day alone at the new job today, it did not go well. He thinks that the customers did something to the wires or the boxes when he had to leave to get them something else, so when he got back, nothing was working. Jacob had his second baseball practice today. I was not informed that it went from being an hour to an hour and a half. We left the house at the last minute, so I had no time to grab cups, toys, kitchen sink, etc! At the ball park the only thing that kept Lucas' and Nicolas' attention was playing in the sand and throwing the sand. We didn't get to leave the ball park until 7 and I still had to come home and cook dinner, so I was not in a good mood. Thank goodness there was a frozen pizza! I had to get them in the bath and feed them before 8, but guess what, Jacob still had homework, so he was up until 9:15! Now it is 2 a.m. and I cannot go to sleep. I am very ready for this day to be over and to start a new one tomorrow. I am so glad that we have more than one day. We can always start over tomorrow! I was going to clean the yard tomorrow, but I am watching Brooklyn while Diane goes on a field trip with Austin. Maybe I can take the two babies on a walk or something? May need to ask Paula for a double stroller!

Day 1: Love is Patient

Today was about showing patience and not being negative. I have to admit that I was very patient today. Everywhere I went there were horrible lines, and wait times. Maybe God threw those in so I would have to be patient? The not being negative part was easy. It happened to be a very pleasant day! I don't know if it was easy because Jason and I hardly ever fight and there was nothing to fight about today, or no reason to get mad, or we just realized that nothing is accomplished with being negative. He folded 6 or 7 loads of laundry and there were no bad words said at all. He knew that he had to fold laundry today, so he just did it, and I kept my mouth shut. If he didn't fold it, I would have folded it tomorrow, even though the rule is you wash it you fold it. I was also trying to not be negative with the kids. Just using the right tone accomplished this goal. Jake and Lucas were mad at Nicolas and Jake grabbed Nicolas' hand, but I just told Jacob why he can't do that to him, and everything was fine.

Tomorrow is to keep with the patience and not being negative, but add in an unexpected gesture as an act of kindness. This one may be difficult. We do things all the time to help each other, so we are a little lost in what to do. I'll figure something out, and I'm sure he will too. While we were reading tomorrow's dare we kinda looked at each other, and I know what he was thinking, why are we doing this. I was thinking the same thing. These first dares are for those who are in bad marriages I guess. They don't really pertain to us, but were doing them anyway. Later in the book, it gets into praying together and things like that, I do not believe that we have ever prayed together. I see where it would help us though. I have got Jason to agree to church! We are going to Grace now. I think that's the only reason I got him to agree. You can wear your blue jeans and it isn't til 5 p.m. Oh well it's a start! I'll keep everyone posted on what else happens...

Fireproof

OK, so Jason and I watched Fireproof last night. I think that he didn't like it like I did, but he is a man! Our marriage has the usual stuff going on, nothing like what was going on in the movie, but it made us look at our marriage differently. It's hard to be like you were when you met after kids, bills and jobs are in the way. We are going tomorrow to buy The Love Dare. I think we are going to start Monday. I think that every married couple should at the very least watch the movie, then if you're up to it do the Love Dare. It's forty days of different things to do. I know on the first day you have to go all day without saying anything negative to the other person. After thinking about it for awhile, I realized that we both say things that are negative to each other, most of the time it's not meant that way, but we do it. We have absolutely nothing to lose by trying it, only a stronger relationship to gain. We'll then have the books for future reference if we get off track. I think that our kids deserve parents that have a strong relationship. I will keep y'all posted on what happens. I don't know yet if I'll post every day or once a week or what, but I will keep you updated!

Happy Birthday!

The second was Lucas' birthday, he turned 4 this year. On the first I made him a birthday cake, it was white with white icing and a whole bunch of sprinkles, just the way he wanted it! We haven't had a birthday party yet because I plan on doing Jacob and Lucas together and getting them a Wii, I just haven't been able to do it yet. The morning after the cake which was actually his birthday, he snuggled up on the couch with me and said, "Thank you mommy for making me a birsday cake." I said "you are so welcome." Then he said, "thank you for singing happy birsday to me too!" BTW he says birsday instead of birthday. I guess he thought I didn't have to make a cake for him, I don't know. It was nice to be thanked for something, even though I have always made a big deal for them on the actual day of their birthday. He is growing up to be quite the little charmer though. I'm gonna have my hands full with that one!
Just an update on the internet, I tried using the library earlier, and it worked! I don't know how, but it did.

Whatever!

OK, I don't know what I was thinking when I put in my resolutions that I was going to be organized! There is absolutely no way to organize 5 people's things in 1100 sq. ft. I have only accomplished getting frustrated. There is no where to put anything. I think I may need to go through everything again and get rid of what I do not absolutely have to have, and maybe then I will have some room. I don't know!
By the way, still no luck with Cricket, I can't get them to return my calls. Looks like a new ISP in my future, and I will see if Cricket will refund any of my money since they have not provided me full access to the internet like I pay for, we will see.
