Yesterday, I was told by Jason that Lucas has a 'Book of Secrets.' This is where he has written two secrets, on two different pages. The first secret is... I have a girlfriend, and I love her. The second was... I want to give my girlfriend a flower so she will love me.
WHAT?!
I do not care if he has a girlfriend, but what is this love talk?
He told me today about the girl. He said that she told him one day that he was her funny boyfriend, but recently, she told him that he was not her boyfriend anymore. This is where the flower comes in. He believes giving her a flower will bring her back. Haave I ever mentioned that this child will be the one to keep me on my toes constantly?
I convinced him to instead color a picture out of one of the numereous coloring books we have lying around, so he did. I guess we will find out what happens tomorrow after school.
This same child, came home today asking to have a sleep over. It caught me off guard, Jacob has never asked about having one or going to one, so I have no idea when this stuff starts.
Lucas said he wanted two of his friends to come. I told him I would ask thier mom's. I did, but one of them couldn't come this weekend because of baseball, so I told Lucas he could come over another day.
Lucas has become very excited for his friend to come over. He keeps calling it 'guy's night.' Later, I find out that the three boys talked about how they needed some guy time today while they were waiting to be picked up from school. I asked Lucas what they wanted to do at this sleepover, and he said they were just gonna hang out!
So, the 'Book of Secrets' has a new secret... "Guy's night is going to be amazing!"

Christmas Update
I am happy to report that we actually got the MIL a good gift! It is one she will keep out and use, unlike past gifts that I never see around, but she claims she loves.
She asked for pajamas, house socks, and other stupid things. We asked her what her major wish was, and she said a new area rug.
This was scary! Her and I do not agree on decorations, at all! Her living room is a very dark maroon color. She has an ugly rock fireplace in there, and a dark couch, it is very dark in there. I took an area rug as my opportunity to put something in there that wasn't so dark, and something that maybe softened the square lines of all her furniture.
I searched for what I thought would be the perfect rug. Jason and I got into many fights, because I wanted to get her something completly different than the old lady rug she had, and he thought it would be best to stick to a similar style.
Finally, we ended up at JCPenney. I won the battle. I got to pick what I wanted her to have, and she loves it. . This is what we got her, in the ivory color. We also got it $100 off, which was fine by me! She loves it so much, that when my kids go over, she takes it up so they won't spill anything on it!
This Christmas, I scored!
